Shortly after earning the endorsement of former U.S. Secretary of Labor and Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, Eric Bauman earned the endorsement of a union that represents thousands of working people: the Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 36.

The Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 36 represents more than 11,000 painters, drywall finishers, glaziers, floorlayers, and tradeshow & signcraft workers.

Bob Smith, Political Director of the Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 36, issued the following statement on his organization’s endorsement of Bauman:

“We need a Chair of the California Democratic Party who fights for the rights of working people across our great state. Eric Bauman has a thirty-four-year track record of working to improve the standard of living for California’s middle class and to build a Democratic Party that strives to better the lives of all working Californians. The Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 36 is proud to endorse Eric Bauman for California Democratic Party Chair.”

Bauman’s previous labor endorsements include the United Steel Workers of Los Angeles and Orange County, Laborers’ Locals 300 and 1309, the California Faculty Association, United Teachers Los Angeles President Alex Caputo-Pearl, California Professional Firefighters, the National Union of Healthcare Workers, AFSCME United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP), Los Angeles/Orange County Building and Construction Trades Council, and the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California.
